Paul Merson wowed by ‘Henry style’ moment from Arsenal star against Atletico Madrid
Arsenal stars are full of confidence right now amid the Gunners’ fine campaign which continued with a stunning 4-0 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Mikel Arteta’s side are currently top of the Premier League after Arsenal’s 1-0 win at Fulham, and they’ve won all three of their matches in the Champions League.
Viktor Gyokeres netted two goals to end his seven game drought, which may be the most pleasing thing for Arteta.
Martin Zubimendi will miss Arsenal’s next Champions League match after receiving his third yellow card of the competition, in the only blow for Arteta from the match.

Gabriel Martinelli likened to Thierry Henry
Gabriel Martinelli scored the second goal of the night after Gabriel’s header from a Declan Rice free-kick had opened the scoring.
Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson was wowed by how Martinelli scored the goal after fine work from Myles Lewis-Skelly in the build-up.
“Its a brilliant goal, the ball gets played into Lewis-Skelly in his own half in the centre circle. He receives it thinks he’s going back, goes forward makes a run, bursts past two players,” Merson said on Sky Sports [21 October].
“Gallagher tries to bring him down, can’t bring him down, he rolls it to Martinelli on the left.
“Martinelli runs onto it [Thierry] Henry style, bends it into the far corner past the keeper. He gets a hand to it in off the post.
“Brilliant run Lewis-Skelly, brilliant goal Martinelli.“
Martinelli back in form
At the beginning of the season the left flank may have been the one position which was still firmly up for grabs in the Arsenal team.
Martinelli impressed on international duty for Brazil, as the 24-year-old scored a goal for his country against Japan.
Now the Brazilian winger has five goals and an assist in nine appearances for club and country.

Noni Madueke made a bright start to his Arsenal career, but when the England international returns from injury he will face a tough task claiming a place in the starting XI with Bukayo Saka also in fine form down the right flank.
