Paul Pogba to Tottenham: Outrage as Ange Postecoglou deal claim issued
Ange Postecoglou doing a deal to bring in Paul Pogba at Tottenham has been roundly dismissed by and outraged Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil.
The Frenchman, who recently had his initial four-year doping ban reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, is set to resume his career, but the talkSPORT pair are adamant it won’t be at Spurs.
The 31-year-old was under contract with Juventus at the time of the ban but will not continue at the club, with an agreement in place to terminate his contract on November 30. As he seeks a new club, the midfielder has attracted interest from various corners of Europe, America, and the Middle East.
Alan Brazil, a former Spurs striker, let out an audible groan before reacting to the prospect of the World Cup-winner arriving in North London: “Oh dear.”
Meanwhile, Rangers legend Ally McCoist was quick to dismiss it, stating: “Oh, no chance. There has never been a player that has existed that is more ‘non-Ange’ than Pogba.”
Brazil echoed McCoist’s sentiment, adding that the four time Serie A winner is a “busted flush” before the pair continued to argue that the Frenchman wouldn’t fit in with Spurs’ current setup under the Australian.
McCoist quipped of the former Celtic boss: “Big Ange, there’s no chance he’s taking Pogba.”
Tottenham should steer clear of Paul Pogba
Football Insider Opinion
The France international’s immense talent is undeniable, with a career that includes multiple Serie A titles, a World Cup, and a UEFA Europa League victory.
His 2018/19 season at Man United stands out, where he scored 13 goals and provided 9 assists in the Premier League, showcasing his ability to dominate matches with creativity and power.

Pogba excels with his vision, long-range passing, and ability to drive the ball forward, but his defensive discipline and work rate have been inconsistent.
Postecoglou’s Tottenham require midfielders who press relentlessly and contribute defensively, an area where the former Juventus player has struggled in the past.
At 31, Pogba’s recent challenges at Juventus and a reduced doping ban raise questions about his mental commitment, and his suitability for Postecoglou’s Spurs system is doubtful, with defensive work and consistency being major concerns from his time at Old Trafford.
Big Ange’s tactics have started to get questions asked about his job at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and it is difficult to see how Pogba is the answer.
