Pedro Neto: Pundit issues ‘surprise’ Wolves claim amid ‘massive’ reveal
Pedro Neto’s injury return will be a “massive boost” for chances of European qualification at Wolves, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Molineux side can be this season’s “surprise package”.
Neto, 21, returned to action off the bench after 10 months out with a fractured kneecap as Wolves beat Leicester 2-1 at home on Sunday (20 February).
As quoted by the Express and Star (21 February), the former Lazio man highlighted the “amazing” work which helped facilitate his recovery and promised to “help the team” for the remainder of the season.
Wolves are currently seventh in the Premier League but could go as high as fourth if they win both of their games in hand on Man United.
Whelan claimed the “solid, well-organised” Midlands side are “going under the radar at the moment”.
“That’ll be a massive boost for their European chances,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He’s a very exciting player and they are a solid, well-organised side.
“Defensively and in the midfield, they’ve got really strong characters, people who can create such as Neto, and a real goalscorer in Jimenez.
“They’re very much going under the radar at the moment. They’ve got games in hand and winning those games would put a lot of pressure on the top four.
“They are just quietly going about their business at the moment, without anyone really looking at them – because they aren’t a big name like your Man United’s or your Arsenal’s.

“Wolves could be a real surprise package, and the game against Arsenal is going to be a big test. They’re a really good, confident side.”
Neto scored five goals and registered six assists in the Premier League last season before injury cut his campaign short.
