Olivier Ntcham: This is why people may have started asking questions after Celtic start
Olivier Ntcham has been talking about scoring his first Celtic goal ahead of the upcoming match against Partick Thistle.
The French under-21 international scored the only goal of the game in the only previous meeting between the sides back in August.
And as quoted by Celtic’s official website, it was a relief for the summer signing from Manchester City top open his scoring account for the Scottish champions, as it prevented any early criticism of his signing from supporters.
He said: “It makes a difference to get that first goal as if you play maybe 12 matches and you don’t score one goal, then people may start to ask questions of why you bought this player, as he hasn’t even scored one goal, so your first one is always special.”
The player, who cost the Hoops £4.5 million has had a decent first season in Glasgow, scoring four goals and forming a midfield partnership with Hoops captain Scott Brown.
Ntcham is set to be in action once again against Partick Thistle, as the Hoops aim to bounce back from the end of their unbeaten record against the Jags at Celtic Park on Wednesday night.
The Frenchman was unfortunate to be substituted at half-time in the 4-0 defeat to Hearts, and will be hoping to start the game which the Bhoys will be looking to win and increase their lead over Aberdeen to five points at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
The Hoops then take on Aberdeen at Celtic Park on Saturday in a vital top of the table clash.
