Pep Guardiola could spark Man City exodus amid ‘big’ new claim – pundit

Frank McAvennie has suggested Pep Guardiola will be the first to walk at Man City.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said none of the current team will stay if the club get relegated.

Last Monday (6 February), the Premier League announced a rap sheet of 115 alleged offences against the English giants lighting the fuse on a legal battle with City that could take up to four years.

The Sky Blues have already begun assembling a legal team ahead of the case being heard by an independent commission and insists there is “irrefutable evidence” in support of their position.

As quoted by the Manchester Evening News (12 February), Guardiola believes the club are fully innocent and called on everyone at the Etihad to pull together to “beat the establishment”.

But, as quoted by Sky Sports (6 February), last May the City boss said that if the club ever lied to him he would leave.

McAvennie claimed the boss will be the first to walk if they are found guilty.

The biggest problem they have got is Pep himself,” he told Football Insider.

He told them that if they lie to him he is leaving. If he goes then everyone will go. There is not one player in the Man City team that will stay if they get relegated.

They say it is not going to happen but look at Rangers. I would hate to see that happen at Man City. Some of those players deserve to stay there. Pep will be the first to go. I just fear for Man City at the moment.
