Pep Guardiola to ‘start Jack Grealish every game’ – Man City fans react

Man City have been told to start Jack Grealish every game after his stellar performance against Nottingham Forest in a 3-0 victory.

While the England international has struggled to secure a consistent starting spot under Pep Guardiola of late, especially in the Premier League, he impressed fans in his start on 4 December.

He has made just eight starts across all competitions this season, providing two assists. He has also failed to score for the reigning champions this calendar year. His only goal in 2024 came while playing for England.

The £100 million man [BBC Sport] received a wave of praise on social media for his midfield display. This is a position he has rarely played for the Sky Blues.

At full-time, Grealish took to social media to share his joy and send a message to fans.

This may have been in response to the reaction online, with many declaring it his best performance in a City shirt.

Man City star has chance to reinvent himself under Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola’s men ended their seven-game winless streak with a victory at the Etihad Stadium, as Grealish took on a deeper role than usual, moving from his typical left-wing position to midfield alongside Kevin De Bruyne.

While his impact wasn’t as goal-orientated as the Belgians’, who drew praise for his stunning display, the ex-Aston Villa captain impressed by controlling the tempo from midfield.

The City manager also praised the No. 10’s performance. When asked about it, Guardiola said: “Really good. He played in the middle and was involved in many things.

“Hopefully in the next games, if I decide to play him in that position, he can be involved in the final third and decisive in goals and assists.” [via: mancity.com]

Fans were equally delighted, with one calling it his “best game in a City shirt.” Others insisted the 29-year-old “must start every game.”

In other news, Kevin De Bruyne could reportedly be offered a chance to join another club within the City Football Group.
