Pep Guardiola will quit Man City after 115 charges latest – Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Pep Guardiola is “coming towards the end of his natural time” in charge of Man City.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – suggested the legendary boss may be ready for a new challenge away from the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola is under contract at Man City until the end of the 2024-25 campaign after joining the club eight years ago.
He has won five Premier League titles and one Champions League trophy during his time in England, among other honours.
Man City are subject to 115 outstanding financial charges tabled by the Premier League last year (2023), and Guardiola has claimed he will not quit the club with the situation unresolved.
Premier League CEO Richard Masters spoke out last week (26 April) at the European Leagues General Assembly to claim “a date has been set and the case will resolve itself at some point in the near future”.
Guardiola could quit Man City for ‘fresh challenge’, says Wyness
But Wyness has now suggested the Spaniard could now leave for “footballing reasons” after a dominant spell with City.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “He’s always said that he’s been given assurances that City have done nothing wrong.
“But I think he’s coming towards the end of his natural time at the club anyway, maybe one or two seasons down the road.
“I think he may be ready for a fresh challenge.
“There’s no doubt that he’s at the top of his game and he’s a superb manager, but everything has its time.

“I think his exit may coincide with the results of these cases.
“It may just be for football reasons after all.”
