Pete O’Rourke shares Everton January signings update

Everton are expected to have more money to spend in the January transfer window once The Friedkin Group takeover is complete, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Friedkin will “put his hand in his pocket” to bolster the current squad.

Football Insider revealed that the takeover is on course to be completed before the end of December, which will see The Friedkin Group purchase 94.1 per cent of the club.

This would be done just in time for investments to be made during January to ensure that the Merseyside giants aren’t involved in any potential relegation battles this season.

Everton are still expected to be impacted by financial fair play and profit and sustainability rules, which will likely prohibit just how active they can be.

Sean Dyche’s side are not expected to be “too bust” during the mid-season transfer window because of that, therefore the investments will need to be selective and smart.

Sean Dyche’s Everton future still remains in the air

Dyche’s long-term future at Goodison Park is still unclear, therefore it isn’t guaranteed he will be making all of the transfer decisions.

The club have Kevin Thelwelder as the Director of Football, and he is expected to have an influence on any incomings and outgoings.

Dyche is out of contract at the end of this season and there are no negotiations ongoing between the two parties about extending it.

Everton

Dyche might not have much say on Everton’s transfer business because of that, as he may not be the man in charge for the foreseeable future to oversee those players.

Football Insider reported that the experienced manager could be sacked by the club when the takeover is complete if The Friedkin Group wants to go in a different direction.
