‘Phenomenal’ – Pundit ‘loves’ one thing he has seen from Darwin Nunez at Liverpool

Darwin Nunez showed a snapshot of his “phenomenal” talent during one moment in last weekend’s clash between Liverpool and Everton.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Nunez, 22, returned to the Liverpool starting XI against Everton (3 September) after serving a three-game suspension for violent conduct.

He nearly opened the scoring in the first half after rattling a volleied effort off Jordon Pickford’s crossbar.

Wenham was blown away by the snapshot.

“The shot from Darwin Nunez against Everton was phenomenal,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I love the way he took it down over his head then he absolutely leathered it on the volley against the crossbar.

“He was so unlucky that didn’t go in, it would have been the perfect apology after his red card a few weeks ago.

“Diaz was also bright in the game, he had an effort that rattled the post. Everton had loads of chances too. Coady had one, Maupay had one as well.

“It was a really good game but that Nunez moment really impressed me.”

Nunez has scored two goals for Liverpool, one in the Community Shield against Man City and one on the opening day of the season against Fulham.

He joined the club for a record fee this summer, bolstering the Liverpool attack following the loss of Sadio Mane.
