Phil Foden and Erling Haaland respond to Rayan Cherki’s Man City update pre-showdown
Rayan Cherki has shared a glimpse from the training ground as Manchester City gear up for their next Club World Cup fixture.
Man City are putting the finishing touches on their preparations ahead of their clash with Saudi giants Al-Hilal in the round of 16.
In their last outing, Pep Guardiola’s side produced a dominant display and thrashed Juventus 5-2 to secure top spot in their group.
City have maintained a perfect record in the competition so far, and the tournament presents another opportunity to add silverware to their growing collection.
Cherki has slotted seamlessly into the side following Kevin De Bruyne’s departure to Napoli and is already making his mark in Guardiola’s system.
The Frenchman recently gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at training, earning plenty of reactions from teammates.

Man City step up Club World Cup preparations ahead of Al-Hilal clash
Cherki shared a series of training photos on Instagram, simply captioned with a bomb emoji.
His post sparked plenty of reactions from his teammates, with Savinho replying with a heart emoji, while Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and Oscar Bobb all showed their support by liking the post.
Cherki has enjoyed a steady start to life at City, scoring once in three Club World Cup appearances.
Replacing De Bruyne is no small task, but the club have clearly backed Cherki’s potential, especially after missing out on Florian Wirtz, who opted to sign for Liverpool instead.
Man City have already spent around £115 million this summer, with Tijjani Reijnders arriving from AC Milan and Rayan Ait-Nouri joining from Wolves, as Pep Guardiola reshapes his squad. A number of departures are still expected.

Man City weighing up Oscar Bobb loan decision
While Bobb has been active on social media showing support for Cherki, uncertainty surrounds his future at the Etihad.
Football Insider revealed Man City are open to loan offers for Bobb as he works his way back to full fitness following a long-term knee injury.
Several Premier League sides, including Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, have expressed interest in a loan deal for the Norwegian winger.
Cherki’s arrival may have pushed Bobb further down the pecking order, with City keen for him to find regular minutes elsewhere to aid his development.
