Phil Jones: Move to Bordeaux collapses after Man United agree deal – Sources
Man United defender Phil Jones has turned down a potential loan move to Bordeaux, Football Insider understands.
The French club were in advanced talks to sign the 29-year-old and were confident the offer of regular first-team football could swing the deal.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Jones has rejected the chance to move to France and now looks like staying at Old Trafford for the rest of the season.

United boss Ralf Rangnick is happy to keep the former Blackburn Rovers man if he does not want to go out on loan.
Jones is under contract at Old Trafford until the end of next season.
He made his return from injury in the 1-0 loss to Wolves earlier this month (3 January) after almost two years out.
It remains his only appearance of the season but he has been named on the bench for their three Premier League games since
Football Insider revealed yesterday (30 January) United were in advanced talks with Bordeaux over a temporary deal.
A move to the Ligue 1 side may have seen him being able to rebuild his fitness.
His opportunities at Old Trafford may be further limited after the winter break as Eric Bailly returns from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Jones, a 27-time England international, has played 225 times across all competitions for Man United.
However, he has not been a first-team regular since the 2018-19 campaign at the beginning of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign.
In other news, Brentford have agreed to sign an ex-Man United star.
