Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may be frozen out under Graham Potter at Chelsea amid BBC reveal – pundit
Graham Potter may freeze Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out at Chelsea, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Aubameyang will be “baffled” by Thomas Tuchel’s sacking and questioning whether he can sign somewhere else.
The 33-year-old made his Chelsea debut in what turned out to be Tuchel’s last game in charge as they were beaten 1-0 by Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday (6 September).
The Blues confirmed on Wednesday morning (7 September) that the club had parted company with the German after their mixed start to the season.
BBC Sport reported the same day that Potter was set for talks over taking over at Stamford Bridge.
Aubameyang worked with Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund and their relationship was said to be a major reason why the Gabon international returned to the Premier League.
“I bet he’s thinking ‘Can I sign somewhere else now?’,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“Tuchel signed him because he knows him. Graham Potter or [Mauricio] Pochettino or [Zinedine] Zidane might come in and think ‘You know what, I want to play a younger striker, [Armando] Broja, and look for another one in January’.
“It’s uncertain times for Aubameyang. Maybe someone like Graham Potter might be on the Arteta side and be stricter on the players at the club.
“It’s very strange times for Aubameyang, I bet he’s baffled.”

Aubameyang was axed at Arsenal after multiple discipline breaches and joined Barcelona in January.
He scored 13 times in 23 appearances and played a key role as the Spanish giants secured a Champions League place
