Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Expert digs at Tottenham fans over criticism of ‘knackered’ star
Tottenham fans need to cut Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg some slack after he was dropped for Sunday’s game against Wolves.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Hojbjerg, 26, was benched on Sunday (13 February) as Spurs lost 2-0 at home to Wolves.

The midfielder had started all but one Premier League game under Antonio Conte before he was dropped after a less than convincing performance against Southampton four days earlier.
Hojbjerg was criticised on social media for his performance but Wenham insists this is unfair as he has been overworked.
“Some fans need to realise something about Hojbjerg,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Fans were slamming him a few weeks ago but when he is out of the team, you miss him.
“We were two goals down inside 20 minutes on Sunday. That would not have happened if he had a proper character on the pitch, someone who cared.
“I just don’t think that would have happened. Apart from one game with Covid, he has never missed a league game for us.
“Three different managers have kept selecting him. There have been times where he’s needed a rest and he hasn’t got one.
“At the end of the last season he needed a rest, then he went to the Euros and got in the team of the tournament.
“We haven’t been able to rest him after the Euros because we don’t have the personnel and he’s been run into the ground.

“That’s why you get games like last week against Southampton when he was poor and kept giving the ball away, no wonder, he’s knackered.
“The issue is when you take him out, you are asking a hell of a lot from Winks and Bentancur.”
