Piers Morgan makes Arsenal Twitter plea to Donald Trump

Piers Morgan has made a plea to the president of the United States of America Donald Trump on Twitter by asking can you make Arsenal “great again”.

This follows the Gunners 3-1 away defeat at London rivals Chelsea on Saturday afternoon which has seen Arsene Wenger’s side fall further away from the Premier League title race.

Defender Marcos Alonso opened the scoring with a headed goal after 13 minutes with Eden Hazard scoring a magnificent solo effort eight minutes after the break.

Substitute Cesc Fabregas then made sure of all three points when he punished goalkeeper Petr Cech for a poor clearance to score against his former club.

Olivier Giroud did net a consolation but it means nothing for the visitors because Wenger’s side are now 12 points adrift of the league leaders.

This angered broadcaster and Arsenal fan Piers Morgan who posted this message to the controversial president of America on his personal Twitter account.

“Can you come and make Arsenal great again,” Morgan asked Trump.

The defeat against Chelsea follows the surprise 2-1 defeat against Watford at the Emirates Stadium in midweek.

Wenger’s side have lost a number of crucial games away from home this term, most notably against Everton and Manchester City in December and now at Stamford Bridge.

The north London club currently sit in third place in the table but could find themselves outside of the top four if results go against them over the weekend.

Their next match will be a home game against league strugglers Hull City at the Emirates Stadium followed by a Champions League clash at Bayern Munich.
