Piers Morgan makes Viktor Gyokeres to Arsenal claim with huge deal agreed: ‘Get excited’

Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan has reacted to the significant news regarding the Gunners’ pursuit of Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres.

The North London club have been in negotiations with Gyokeres, and RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, since the beginning of the transfer window.

Mikel Arteta is actively searching for forwards to boost his squad, after coming second in the Premier League over the past three seasons.

Kai Havertz failed to reach double figures in the league last season and Gabriel Jesus’ time at the Emirates has been plagued by injury issues.

Morgan speaks out on Gyokeres announcement

News shared by David Ornstein (July 6) stated Arsenal are “in advanced talks” with Sporting over a deal for Gyokeres.

Gyokeres and Arsenal have already agreed personal terms and a five year contract, with Arteta now “pushing for a swift conclusion.”

Famous Gunners fan and journalist Morgan reacted avidly to the announcement telling fellow supporters to “start getting excited.”

Morgan, who has been outspoken on his belief that Arsenal require a striker, believes the 27-year-old is exactly what his team needs.

The Swedish international is ready to return to England following previous spells at Coventry City, Brighton and Swansea.

His proven record in Portugal has been seen as more attractive than the potential of Sesko, who was also strongly linked with a move.

The Gunners are finally close to completing a signing which should elevate their squad to the next level.

Arteta isn’t only focused on winning the Premier League, but also the Champions League and Arsenal will become a greater threat in both competitions next season.

Transfer business is far from concluded at the Emirates and forward Noni Madueke is also being lined up as a new left winger and Eberechi Eze could also join.

Concerns over losing Gabriel Martinelli remain, but Gyokeres will be provided with plenty of service and Arsenal’s forward line would still look very strong.

Midfield is also being strengthened by Arteta with Martin Zubimendi have signed from Real Sociedad, and Christian Norgaard close to completing a move from Brentford.
