PL boss talks about Arsenal 27-year-old after reported £10million bid

West Brom boss Tony Pulis has told that his side won’t be signing Kieran Gibbs this summer after reports that Arsenal had rejected a £10million from them.

Sky Sports reported on Saturday that the Gunners had rejected a bid from the Midlands side thought to be worth £10million with the north Londoners thought to be looking at £12million for the 27-year-old.

However, manager Pulis neither confirmed or denied the bid and instead went straight to the point by stating that Gibbs is not one of his targets this summer.

“We won’t be signing Kieran Gibbs. We have to look for players that fit what we want to do and the way we want to play. We have three or four other targets we are desperate for,” told Pulis, as quoted by the Sky Sports transfer centre live blog (Saturday, 1.58pm).

“We are juggling with two at the moment and that’s not Gibbs. Hopefully by the time we get back home we will have done those two.”

It is thought that Gibbs’ future at the Emirates Stadium is close to ending after he was omitted from the first team squad’s pre-season tour of Australia and China.

He also has just a year remaining on his contract at the club after having made just 11 Premier League appearances for Arsene Weneger’s team in the last campaign.

Arsenal have additionally added Sead Kolasinac to their left-back ranks this summer and with Nacho Monreal also in the squad both are expected to be ahead of him in the team.

But, Gibbs, who joined the Arsenal academy back in 2004 is now unlikely to make the switch to West Brom this summer after Pulis’ comments.
