PL boss urges club to make Tottenham an offer they can’t refuse for star man – report

By Harvey Byrne

Rival Premier League manager Jose Mourinho has urged the Manchester United hierarchy to make Tottenham an offer they can’t refuse for star Harry Kane, according to a report.

The Mirror have claimed on their website that the Portuguese wants his club to ignore bringing back Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid and go for the Spurs 23-year-old.

It is detailed that Tottenham themselves are insisting that they will not listen to bids for the England international.

But, an offer in the region of £100million would understandably give tough negotiator Daniel Levy something to think about.

The north London club already sold Gareth Bale for a world record £85.3million to Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 and if Kane was sold to Manchester United for more than £89.3million he would top Paul Pogba’s current record.

However, the Tottenham goal machine is also still contracted to the north London side until 2022 and they will be sure to do all that they can to enable them to line-up with Kane in the next campaign following a season where he bagged 29 Premier League goals in 30 top-flight appearances.

Football Insider verdict:

Kane is irreplaceable for Tottenham at this moment in time and the club found out in 2013 that while the money is good, it is often harder to replace a star player. Kane’s scoring record since breaking into the Spurs team is incredible and the Englishman is surely up there with the best forwards in the world. It is also understandable why sides such as Manchester United are considering big money moves for him. However, Tottenham must now ensure they keep hold of the forward if they want to continue their progression.
