By Emma Sanders
Football Insider rates the Manchester United players after they recorded a 4-0 victory against Feyenoord at Old Trafford in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Sergio Romero 7 – The reserve keeper made a terrific stop in the first half to keep out Dirk Kuyt and kept a clean-sheet.
Antonio Valencia 7 – Made a number of forward runs, as he usually does and provided some good service from the right wing. Wasn’t hugely tested in defence.
Phil Jones 7 – Had a fairly quiet match and wasn’t put under a lot of pressure. Could have got forward more.
Daley Blind 7 – On his 100th appearance for the club, Blind was lucky not to get booked in the first-half and had a fairly quiet night overall.
Luke Shaw 7 – Didn’t make any mistakes in defence but could have joined in with more attacking plays, like Valencia on the opposite flank.
Michael Carrick 7 – Didn’t make any mistakes and kept the game ticking.
Paul Pogba 7 – The midfielder looked strong on the ball and was involved in the game a little bit more than he has been recently. Didn’t have many stand-out moments though.
Juan Mata 8 – Had a fairly quiet first half but grew as the game went on and got a goal just moments before being subbed off after a terrific build-up from Manchester United.
Wayne Rooney 9 – The England captain firmly silenced his critics with a superb first-half goal and a terrific overall display. Man of the match.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan 9 – On just his second start for the club the Armenian posed a threat and looked energetic in United’s attack. Great performance.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic 7 – Lacked movement up front and did not hold the ball up as well as expected but he showed terrific composure to assist Rooney’s first-half goal and was involved heavily in a number of United attacks.
