Plymouth vs Luton postponement latest as Met Office issues weather warning for South West
The Met Office have released a warning for Saturday’s League One clash between Plymouth Argyle and Luton Town.
Several League One matches have been at risk of the weather in recent weeks, amid freezing conditions across the UK.
Storm Goretti threatened to postpone Nottingham Forest’s trip to Wrexham in the FA Cup, as well as Arsenal‘s clash with Liverpool.
Luckily, much of the worst weather appears to have passed, although this week has seen officials watching the skies closely.
Swansea’s match against Blackburn was at risk of postponement, but the match luckily went ahead with the Swans emerging 3-1 victors.

It has been an encouraging January for Plymouth, who have won three consecutive games across all competitions.
Tom Cleverley had been under huge pressure in November, after his side lost six games straight.

But decision-makers backed the 36-year-old, and they have been rewarded with a turnaround in form over the last two months.
Plymouth are now just six points behind their opponents on Saturday, Luton. Managed by former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, the Hatters are seventh and in uncertain form.
Big wins at the end of 2025 promised a strong start to the new year for Luton, but they have won just one of four games across all competitions since.
Both sides will be hoping to secure the three points on Saturday, but the weather may yet have its say.

The Met Office have released a yellow weather warning for rain and wind in the South West, with flooding and disruption expected.
Will any other games be affected?
Cardiff City‘s clash with Stockport County is also expected to fall within the impact zone of Saturday’s weather warning, with the League One leaders hoping to build on their momentum.
Both matches will kick off at 12:30 GMT on Saturday, and fans travelling should be aware of disruption.
Should the conditions be as harsh as expected, match officials will be expected to conduct an early-morning inspection of the pitch.
Should a postponement be necessary after that, fans will be informed as soon as possible to avoid needless travel.
