Pogba will sign new Man United deal on one condition after Raiola ‘update’ today – pundit

Paul Pogba will only sign a new contract at Man United if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sacked and a “world-class manager” is brought in.

That is the view of former Spurs and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 28-year-old’s contract situation at Old Trafford.

Pogba has eight months remaining on his contract with the Red Devils.

In January, he could sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.

Speaking to The Times (27th October), his agent, Mino Raiola said “there’s no update” on talks over a contract extension.

When asked by Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs for his thoughts on Pogba’s future, Robinson said: “I can’t see him being a the club much longer given his contract situation.

“He can sign a pre-contract with a foreign club in January. Let’s be honest, if he was going to stay he would have signed a new deal by now.

“The only thing that would keep Pogba at Man United would be the arrival of a world-class manager. We are talking about someone like an Antonio Conte or a Zinedine Zidane.

“United would need a manager in the bracket of [Jurgen] Klopp, [Pep] Guardiola and [Thomas] Tuchel. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not in that bracket.”

Speaking on Pogba’s future, Raiola told The Times: “You would have to ask Manchester United about it [the contract talks].

“At this moment everything is calm. There is no update.”
