Premier League sack race: Arne Slot odds slashed after late-night Liverpool twist
Arne Slot has had his odds slashed to be sacked next in the Premier League after Liverpool’s defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It was a shock defeat to the Old Gold side on Tuesday as Andre’s late deflected strike condemned the Reds to a defeat.
Slot has been under heavy pressure this season despite winning the Premier League title last campaign, and now the bookies are not confident of his long-term future.
One UK bookmaker has now placed the odds of him being the next manager to leave in the English top-flight down to 12/1, with Oddschecker on 5 March confirming that these have been slashed.
Plenty has been said on Liverpool’s managerial situation, and it remains to be seen if Slot can keep hold of his job between now and the end of the campaign, with Champions League qualification on the line.

For Slot, he is under immense pressure to deliver some type of glory to Liverpool this campaign.
Champions League qualification would likely keep him in the job for the start of next season. However, this may do little to turn the Anfield faithful’s opinion.
Therefore, a cup may be needed to regain the trust of his supporters, with Liverpool still in the Champions League and the FA Cup.
Luckily, the Reds have a kind draw in the latter, facing Wolves in the round of 16 at Molineux on Friday.
However, if a repeat of the result on Tuesday occurs, Slot’s position may be untenable.
Who else is in the Premier League sack race?
Despite Football Insider revealing that Oliver Glasner will not be sacked, he is the favourite to leave next at 1/3.
The Crystal Palace manager has overseen a resurgence in form recently, but he is still set to depart at the end of the campaign when his contract expires.
Following this is Scott Parker at 3/1, who looks destined to send Burnley back down to the Championship.
Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler follows as 12/1 after he helped bring the club back to form in recent weeks.

Marco Silva is also an outsider at 25/1, with the Fulham manager yet to resolve his contract situation, with his deal set to expire in the summer.
