PSG could agree Marcus Rashford ‘swap deal’ after Man United latest
PSG could join Barcelona in pursuing a permanent move for Marcus Rashford in the summer transfer window.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, after Ruben Amorim’s sacking at Man United failed to change Rashford’s stance on an Old Trafford exit.
Barcelona have an option to sign Rashford for around £30million once his season-long loan from Man United expires.
Rashford may have to take a pay cut to join Barcelona, who also want to sign the 28-year-old for a lower fee than £30m.
Marcus Rashford situation ‘not straightforward’
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Man United will not stand in Rashford’s way, and will allow him to leave Old Trafford permanently in the summer.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks PSG could also be “an acceptable option” for Rashford.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Well look, it does seem Rashford wants to stay down there, and it seems Barca want to keep him, but I think that, I don’t think United will actually bargain that much.
“I think there could be interest from somebody like PSG coming in as well. That still might give some leverage on the Rashford deal for United. So we’ll see how that plays out, but I think they would sell in the end.
“Of course, in Barcelona these days, every euro matters but still I think that United could be open to doing a deal because that’s the club that Rashford wants to stay at. However, as I say, if PSG come in with a decent player swap, that could be something as well that they’ll have to take into account.
“I think PSG could be an acceptable option for Rashford as well. So it’s still not quite as straightforward as it looks at the moment.”

Ruben Neves update emerges in Man United pursuit
Man United have been hit with a blow in their attempts to persuade Ruben Neves to move back to the Premier League.
Neves has opened talks over a contract extension at Al Hilal, with the Saudi club not willing to sell the 28-year-old.
Man United wanted to agree a £20m deal to sign Neves, as the club look to add to their midfield options with Casemiro departing at the end of the season.
