Pundit ‘100 per cent’ sure on Alfredo Morelos as controversial Rangers footage emerges

Gabriel Agbonlahor suspects a lack of game time played a role in Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos’ red card against Hibernian.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aston Villa striker said Morelos’s poor temperament is “ruining his chances” of a move to a good club.

As shown on Sky Sports (20 August), the 26-year-old was sent off for the Gers in the 2-2 draw with Hibs for an elbow on Marijan Cabraja.

As quoted by the BBC (23 August), Giovanni van Bronckhorst confirmed the striker has now been left out of the squad taking on PSV Eindhoven tonight.

The manager added that Morelos needs to prove that “he wants to play for Rangers”.

When asked if a lack of game time could have impacted Morelos’ attitude on Saturday, Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “100 per cent.

He’s been used to being the number one and for him to not be starting in big games, he’ll be thinking to himself ‘what’s going on here?’.

He was a player that the club were dying to keep hold of and now he’s not playing. He’s got a temper on him and he showed that.

Rangers

How many times is he going to do it You can’t get away with elbows like that, you just can’t. He will look back and think ‘what was I doing?’ and it’s definitely something that he’s got to stop.

He’s ruining his chance of a decent move because if you’ve got that temperament, why would you move? Why would a club want to sign you?
