Pundit backs Arsenal to seal Declan Rice deal after source’s £65m update
West Ham star Declan Rice should sign for Arsenal instead of Chelsea this summer.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the midfielder’s future.
According to The Guardian (16 January), Arsenal will make Rice their top summer target and are optimistic of beating London rivals Chelsea to his signature.

On Saturday (28 January) sources told Football Insider that Arsenal are submitting a new bid for Moises Caicedo of £65million after he publicly begged Brighton to let him go.
Sky’s Dharmesh Sheth claimed on Friday (27 January) that any bid for Caicedo will not affect the club’s interest in Rice.
McManus insists Rice should strongly consider moving to Arsenal over boyhood club Chelsea.
“I fancy Arsenal to go and win the league now, they are battering teams,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“So, by extension, that’s them in the Champions League with a bit more money to spend. So you would be moving to a team that has just won something and is set up to win more as well as a team in the Champions League.
“It’s another London team so he wouldn’t have to move. That would tick a lot of boxes. Xhaka is getting on so you would stick Rice in for him.
“A midfield of Rice, Odegaard and Partey could do some serious damage. It looks like they want Caicedo too so you throw him in there, that’s not bad at all.
“They are already really strong in the middle of the pitch so you stick Rice in there as well, that’s special.

“I know he’s been linked with Chelsea for years but Arsenal is the move, for me.
“I’m not sure what the plan is at Chelsea.”
