Pundit backs Man United to seal ‘incredible’ Kane signing after what he’s heard from Neville

Frank McAvennie insists Harry Kane is better suited to playing for Manchester United rather than Manchester City.

The former West Ham striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to Gary Neville’s recent comments.

Speaking on Monday Night Football (23 August) Neville suggested Man United should move for Kane this week.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham this summer.

The latest from the Telegraph (18 August) is that City have had a second offer worth £125million turned down by Spurs.

Like Neville, McAvennie can’t understand why the Red Devils have not made a move for Kane this summer.

“Kane is tailor-made for Manchester United,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I think he’s a Man United player rather than a Man City player.

“He didn’t kick a ball at the Euros when he was playing with Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling. He doesn’t suit that style of play.

“He’s more like Cavani and he’s thriving at Old Trafford. I would love to see Cavani and Kane, that would be incredible.

“That’s no disrespect to Greenwood and Rashford, their time will come.

“I don’t know what the money situation is but if they can, they have to spend that kind of money on Kane.

“It’s not often I agree with Gary Neville but on this occasion I do. I can see it happening.”

Tottenham

Kane made his first appearance of the season as Tottenham beat Wolves 1-0 at Molineux.

The England captain came off the bench but failed to take a glorious opportunity to wrap up the game.
