Pundit backs Yves Bissouma after ‘massive’ Tottenham team news reveal
Noel Whelan has insisted Antonio Conte won’t shy away from playing Yves Bissouma with Tottenham facing two games a week until the World Cup.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted there is “no risk” with the 26-year-old “chomping at the bit” to make his mark at Spurs.
As quoted by football.london (23 September), Antonio Conte has revealed he will be “counting” on fringe stars like Bissouma, Oliver Skipp, and Matt Doherty over the “next 12 games”.

Bissouma has started just once for Tottenham since completing a reported £30million move from Brighton in the summer window.
Earlier this month, Conte revealed the Mali international needs to “work and get totally into the idea of football” under his management – and admitted he is a “step behind” first-choice pair Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur.
Whelan insisted Bissouma “ticks every single box” in the midfield area.
He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “They’ve got Hojbjerg and Bentancur in there at the moment who are doing exceptionally well.
“You can’t rule out those two, but the games are now coming thick and fast at this point in the season.
“The rotational process will start to happen, and Bissouma is not a bad player to turn to.
“That’s why they brought him from Brighton, where he was a consistent standout performer.
“He’s someone I admire massively because I think he ticks every single box in that defensive midfield area.

“I don’t think Antonio Conte will be shy about throwing him in. He won’t see it as a risk.
“There’s no risk – he’s experienced and quality. He’s probably also chomping at the bit to get out there and show the Tottenham fans what he’s all about.”
