Pundit baffled by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool transfer reveal – ‘I don’t undertand what the plan is’
Liverpool are making a mistake in ending their January transfer business.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Reds’ January plans.
As quoted by Sky Sports (13 January), when asked if Liverpool would be making any more signings this window, Jurgen Klopp said “I don’t think so, it’s just the situation is like it is”.

The Reds have only signed Cody Gakpo this month with the club still struggling to pick up results in the Premier League.
“Liverpool need a midfielder, I don’t care if Klopp says they don’t, they do,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“They are what, ninth in the Premier League? This club should be in a title race. I know they have had injuries but that midfield has needed surgery for a while.
“To go out and sign a striker and then ignore the midfield makes absolutely no sense. Diaz and Firmino are going to come back from injury.
“There is no one coming in the midfield. I just don’t understand what the plan is.
“Klopp coming out and saying that might just take the pressure off a bit. Liverpool must have so many names flying around.
“Everything Klopp does has a purpose, he’s very clever with his words. Is he being truthful when he says Liverpool are done?
“How can he know, the market changes every day. He has no way of knowing what might come up.”

Gakpo has failed to score for Liverpool in his three outings for the club.
