Pundit can’t believe Chelsea could hijack £173m Cristiano Ronaldo move – ‘you have to’
Alan Hutton has claimed Graham Potter is right to be reluctant to add Cristiano Ronaldo to his Chelsea squad after his “antics” at Man United and away with Portugal.
The former Tottenham and Rangers defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the 37-year-old is still capable of “brilliance” and scoring goals.
According to CBS Sports (26 December), Ronaldo is set to undergo a medical at Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr as they hope to tie up a deal before the January window opens.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will reportedly receive a yearly wage of as much as £173million-per-year while at the club.
Chelsea have been linked with Ronaldo again this month following a serious knee injury to young striker Armando Broja.
The Albania international’s absence leaves Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kai Havertz as Potter’s only recognised striking options.
Hutton told Football Insider‘s Charlotte Cohen: “I don’t think his antics over the last couple of months will have helped encourage Chelsea to go after him.
“It’s difficult because he’s one of the best players to ever play the game. But you can only go on what you’ve seen very recently.
“He’s left Man United with a lot of fall-outs, he’s left out for Portugal and there’s fall-out in that squad.
“Do you want someone like that in your squad at this moment? You have to say no.

“But he can produce brilliance, and he does score goals.
“It’s a huge decision for Chelsea to make.”
