Pundit ‘can’t believe it’ as yet more Leeds injury blows revealed after Hay update

Paddy Kenny can’t believe the Leeds United ill luck after another two of their key men were ruled out due to injury.

The former Whites stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, can’t believe Marcelo Bielsa’s luck.

Leeds named a much-changed side for Sunday’s clash with Tottenham after another set of blows.

Raphinha and Rodrigo sat out of the game through illness and a foot injury respectively, as per Phil Hay.

Football Insider’s injury expert Ben Dinnery has revealed United now have seven first-team stars on their casualty list following the events of the last 24 hours.

Leeds have been blighted by injuries this season and have rarely been able to name their strongest starting lineup.

Players like Adam Forshaw have stepped up and earned praise but Kenny insists Leeds won’t improve until their key players return.

“It’s so difficult,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Teams like Leeds obviously don’t have the same squads as Manchester City and Chelsea.

“The depth just isn’t there, so they need every player available all of the time.

“That hasn’t been the case this season, unfortunately. But they have been so unlucky, I can’t believe it.

It’s such a blow to lose that many players. Look at all of the injuries.

“Some of the players have come in have done well but it’s not the same as having those players available.”

19-year-old Joe Gelhardt came in for Rodrigo and impressed against Spurs.

Leeds are next in action against Brighton at the Amex on Saturday.

In other news, one pundit claims “it doesn’t look good” after Marcelo Bielsa’s update on one injured Leeds star.
