Pundit ‘can’t believe’ Leeds ‘conversations’ after inside source’s Bielsa update

Paddy Kenny insists it would be “ridiculous” for Leeds United to sack Marcelo Bielsa.

The former Whites stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims no one could replace the Argentine.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider (21 December) Bielsa is under growing pressure to keep his job at Leeds United and remarkably could be sacked as early as next month.

The source told Football Insider that Bielsa “won’t be at Leeds next season” amid a growing acceptance among the club’s senior figures that his fourth campaign will be his last.

The Whites sit 16th in the Premier League table and five points off the relegation places.

However, Kenny insists sacking Bielsa would be the wrong move.

“Sacking Bielsa would be a ridiculous move,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“What he has done for that club, it’s amazing. They have come on massively since he joined.

“I know there has been investment but look at how much the players love him.

“You also have to look at the circumstances. Leeds have the most injuries in the league by a mile.

“A new manager isn’t going to magically make everyone fit again.

“Leeds aren’t a team like Man City, they can’t afford to lose four or five first-team players.

“Look at the bench against Arsenal, I think the oldest sub was 21 and the youngest was 15. That shows how bad it is.

“I can’t believe they are having these conversations. Why would you look to sack Bielsa, he’s an unbelievable manager.

“He has been dealt some bad cards this season. Sacking him would be a stupid move for me, who would replace him?
