Pundit cites Anthony Gordon after ‘massive’ Man City transfer news
Bernardo Silva staying at Man City is a “massive boost” for Pep Guardiola, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker compared Bernardo’s importance to Man City to Anthony Gordon’s significance to Everton.
Guardiola confirmed via the Press Association last week (26 August) that the 28-year-old is “absolutely” staying at the Etihad beyond the end of the transfer window.

He had attracted reported interest from both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain this summer but still has three years left to run on his current contract.
Despite speculation about his future, Bernardo’s form has not suffered and he scored in City’s 4-2 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday (27 August).
“It’s a massive boost,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“I said this about Anthony Gordon. I feel some players, to a team, are indispensable and you can’t get rid of them.
“Bernardo Silva is that player. When Man City need a goal, he is up there with Kevin De Bruyne creating and putting away chances. He’s irreplaceable to that team.
“As much as he wants to play for Barcelona, I’m glad Man City haven’t let him go because he’s a big player for them.”

Bernardo has scored 50 times and provided a further 52 assists in 256 appearances across all competitions for City since his move from Monaco in the summer of 2017.
The Portugal international has won nine major trophies at the Etihad, including four Premier League titles.
