Pundit drops ‘huge’ Kyle Walker claim after source’s Man City reveal
The length of contract will be a “huge factor” in whether Kyle Walker signs an extension at Man City.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender stressed the importance of the length of contract on offer once players reach a certain age.
The 33-year-old is entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad and has cast doubts over his long-term future in Manchester.
On 24 June, Football Insider revealed that Bayern Munich are very keen on signing the right-back this summer, with Thomas Tuchel a “huge fan” of the player.
The German giants are hoping to tempt Walker by offering him a longer contract than he is being offered from City as they try to renew his deal.
When asked how important the length of contract is when deciding your future, Hutton told Football Insider: “For me it is a huge factor, especially when you get into your 30s because a lot of teams nowadays will only give you a year.
“You can’t really settle with that, you never really feel like you are going to be there long-term. It just seems when you get past that 30 mark people do not want to give you a long-term deal.

“I think you should be judged on your stats and performances, not just your age because everybody is different.
“If City are, for example, going to give him a one-year deal whereas Bayern would give him a three-year deal on decent money as well, it is probably something that he would look at even though he would love to stay at Man City.“
