Pundit drops Liverpool ‘magnificent signing’ claim after source’s Kylian Mbappe reveal
Kylian Mbappe would be a “magnificent” signing for Liverpool if they can agree a deal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie doesn’t think the Reds will be able to reach an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.
Mbappe has entered the final year of his contract with the French club and has already informed them of his desire to move on following the expiration of his deal next summer.
PSG are reluctant to let their star attacker leave for free and are attempting to sell him for an astronomical fee in the coming weeks.
On 5 August, Football Insider revealed that the 24-year-old is a huge admirer of the Merseyside club and would prefer to join them for a season-long loan than many of his other suitors around the world.
The forward nearly joined the Reds as a 15-year-old but instead opted for Monaco but the likelihood of a sensational move this summer is believed to be unlikely.
When asked for his assessment of Mbappe’s potential move to Anfield, McAvennie told Football Insider: “If he goes to Liverpool for a year he would be a great signing, unbelievable, absolutely magnificent.

“It is a lot of money to spend on one player but he would be a catalyst and a driving force for the attacking line but is it happening? I do not think it will.
“If Klopp can get him he will take him, who wouldn’t? But it is a very strange situation.“
