Pundit eviscerates two ‘terrible’ Chelsea players – ‘I hate saying it…’

Frank McAvennie has claimed Frank Lampard is “tearing his hair out” at Chelsea.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker slammed Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who have been “terrible” for the Blues.

Lampard’s side secured their first Premier League win since March with a 3-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday (6 May).

The win ends a disappointing run of form which has seen them lose three league games in a row and be eliminated from the Champions League.

Aubameyang dropped back out of the squad for the victory over Bournemouth after starting the week before against Arsenal, although he only featured for the first half.

Sterling dropped to the bench for the win at the Vitality Stadium despite starting the four previous matches for Lampard’s side.

But McAvennie doesn’t think either of the attackers deserve to be in the side.

Sterling and Aubameyang have been terrible,” he told Football Insider.

The club has got nothing off them. How can they pay that much money for those two?

I hate saying that about players. Sterling has been everywhere but has not established himself as a world class player and he should have by now.

Aubameyang is not even running, that is not right. Frank Lampard must be tearing his hair out because he has come in and they are not interested.

The Blues come up against Nottingham Forest on Saturday (13 May) as the look to move further up the table.

They then travel to Manchester twice to face league leaders Man City and top four hopefuls Man United before returning to Stamford Bridge to welcome Newcastle United.
