Tyler Roberts cannot be happy with his current situation at Leeds United despite playing 28 minutes of Saturday’s 1-0 loss against Brighton, according to Kevin Campbell.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker suggested that the 22-year-old will be holding talks with his representatives regarding an exit from Elland Road.
Roberts made his first appearance in 2021 on Saturday as Marcelo Bielsa’s side failed to bounce back from their 3-0 FA Cup loss against Crawley Town.
Football Insider understands that Bielsa is torn on whether to allow the forward to leave the club this month as he still believes he can have an impact this season.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Roberts’ future, Campbell said:
“The name of the game is playing football and if you are not getting regular minutes then you need to speak to people in the background and get something sorted out.
“You need to get out and play football. There is no footballer I know or have known that is happy not playing. You have to be playing, even if that means dropping down a division.”
Roberts has made 10 appearances for the Whites this season, but has failed to deliver assist or goal in any of those outings.
He has 18 months left on his contract at Elland Road.
