Pundit fears for Leeds United stars after ‘shock’ development
Leeds United’s January signings may already be considering their futures after the sacking of Jesse Marsch.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the state of play at Elland Road.
On Monday (6 February) Leeds sacked Marsch with the club only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
As per Sky Sports (6 February), the Whites had backed the American with £140million worth of transfers during his time at the club including a club-record spend on Georginio Rutter last month.
“It must have come as a shock to the new boys,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“You have just signed for this club and met the manager. He’s told you where you’re going to play and how you fit into the system.
“Then all of a sudden he’s gone. That must be awful for them. Who knows where their heads are at now?
“You have a new manager coming in, what if he doesn’t like you as a player? Or what if there is no place for you in his team?
“You have just joined a club and already you are worried about your future. I just wonder why they let Marsch spend all of this money if they knew he was so close to losing his job.
“That doesn’t make any sense to me. I worry for those lads because their futures are all up in the air again.

“You’re at a brand new club and the one thing you might already be familiar with is gone.
“It’s far from ideal but the opposite could happen too, getting a new manager in could be the making of some of these players.”
