Pundit fears for Sean Dyche as he’s ‘walking into a mess’ at Everton
Sean Dyche is “walking into a mess” at Everton as the club has no long-term plan.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Toffees’ plans behind the scenes.
Dyche was announced as the new Everton manager on Monday (30 January) after the club initially held talks with Marcelo Bielsa.
Dyche was appointed with just one full day of the January transfer window to make changes to his squad as they bid to avoid relegation.
McManus fears for Everton’s long-term safety after yet another managerial change.
“The new manager is walking into a mess,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“The club has no long-term plan. You could see that in the options they went for in the manager. Dyche is very pragmatic and maybe more suited to a relegation battle.
“Bielsa is so different to that. Moshiri is m meant to be the one pushing it, it doesn’t sound like anyone else wants him [Bielsa].
“So you wonder who is making the decisions and why there are such different ideas. I don’t think there is a long-term plan there.
“Is the plan in place for Everton to move away from the bottom three and then get back to where they were under the likes of Moyes?

“I don’t think so. I think they are living season to season and just hoping for the best.
“That’s no way to run a football club.”
