Pundit ‘feels sorry’ for Harry Maguire after journalist’s Man United reveal
Alan Hutton “feels sorry” for Man United captain Harry Maguire.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Tottenham right-back suggested the 29-year-old will find it difficult to break back into Erik ten Hag’s starting XI.
Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have started United’s last four Premier League fixtures.

Maguire has played just 10 minutes of football in the four back-to-back wins.
According to ESPN‘s Mark Ogden (19 September), the England international is frustrated with David de Gea’s communication and reluctance to defend further away from his goal-line.
The centre-half is said to see such as a factor in the defence’s struggles last season.
When asked by Football Insider if that could have been a contributing factor to Maguire’s struggles, Hutton said: “Possibly.
“It is just ifs and buts though.
“If Harry Maguire was to speak openly he would admit that his performances have not been to the standard he would like them to be at.
“We all know that he is a great player. He can come up with the ball, is strong defensively and is good in the air. He has all of the attributes to be a top centre-back.
“However, when you are not playing at your best for whatever reason it can be difficult. Your own fans are on you so you need big shoulders to deal with it. It is not easy.
“Man United have been going through a period of change. It is not just Maguire.

“I feel sorry for him because he has taken a lot of criticism because of his price tag. It was a lot of money.
“He is going to have to work back into the frame bit by bit.”
