
Pundit fumes at Mikel Arteta after what he saw him do at Arsenal – ‘I’m getting annoyed by him’
Frank McAvennie is “getting annoyed” by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker slammed Arteta’s touchline behaviour and claimed other managers could “turn against him”.
The Gunners boss clashed with Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe after referee Andrew Madley failed to award an injury-time penalty for Arsenal.
The game ended 0-0 and Arsenal held onto their place at the top of the Premier League.
The gap to Man City was reduced to five points after their 1-0 win at Chelsea on Thursday (5 January).
As quoted by the Independent (8 January), Alan Shearer described Arteta’s antics as “disrespectful”.
The Spaniard defended his behaviour ahead of his side’s FA Cup clash against Oxford United on Monday (9 January).
The Arsenal boss said he tries to do his best for his club and defend and promote it however he can.
Arteta added that it is unfair to take his actions out of context but said he will try to be better.
McAvennie has been left unimpressed by Arteta’s behaviour.
“I am getting annoyed by Arteta,” he told Football Insider.

“Some of his antics up and down that line are nothing short of ridiculous.
“He was shouting at Eddie Howe. He is just in management, he is doing well, he does not need to turn people against him. He is kicking every ball like he is still playing.“
