Pundit in awe of Mikel Arteta after ‘amazing’ thing he’s spotted at Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta deserves all of the credit for his side’s “brilliant” start to the season.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Gunners’ start to the season.

Arsenal beat North London rivals Tottenham 3-1 on Saturday (1 October), keeping themselves at the top of the Premier League table.

Arteta’s side have won all but one of their Premier League games this season.

Kenny insists this run of form is down to Arteta’s hard work more than Gabriel Jesus’ goalscoring form.

“I mean, what else can you say about Arsenal and Arteta?” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They have been brilliant all season. The game against Man United was disappointing but that’s just one game, look at all of the others.

“People might say that they haven’t been the hardest games but you see other sides like Liverpool dropping points to average teams.

“A win is a win and last season Arsenal weren’t winning as often as they should have been. It’s amazing what happens when you see a proper striker join the club.

“It’s not just Jesus though, I think Arteta deserves the most credit. This is his team now and it’s working.”

Jesus has scored five goals in eight Premier League games for his new club.

Arsenal are next in action against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday 6 October.
