Pundit issues bleak Leeds prediction after shattering new injury development

Marcelo Bielsa needs to find a “plan B” after his Leeds side were hammed by Manchester City.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the club’s latest loss.

Leeds were hammered 7-0 by Manchester City at The Etihad on Tuesday (14 December).

In his post-match presser, Bielsa admitted there were “no positives” he could take after such a humbling defeat.

The result left the Whites five points from the relegation places before the majority of the teams below them played their midweek games.

Football Insider exclusively revealed via a Leeds source yesterday (17 December) that only eight Whites first-teamers took part in first-team training on Thursday.

Kenny insists Bielsa has to work on other ways of playing even if their plan A is often effective.

“You have to have a plan B, that needs to change,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“But you talk about going to Man City, Leeds played like that and beat them last season.

“You can’t forget that. Obviously, they have taken a right spanking because City were on fire.

“In a broader sense, you have to give yourself options. You have to have different ways of playing against different teams.

“You can’t suffer more defeats like that because it will start to affect them.

“Of course, there have been so many injuries so you have to consider that.

“But it’s been said about Bielsa for a long time now. There needs to be another option.”

Leeds United

Leeds have only won three Premier League games from 17 this season.

Only Newcastle and Norwich have conceded more than the 32 goals the Whites have shipped so far during the 2021-22 campaign.
