Pundit issues bold Sancho claim after Rangnick’s Man United update via Sky

Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Jadon Sancho to shine under Ralf Rangnick at Man United.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Sancho will be full of confidence after his recent goals and deserves a consistent run in the starting XI.

The 21-year-old has scored twice in United’s last two games including the opening goal in the 1-1 draw with Chelsea last weekend (28 November).

Sky Sports reported today (2 December) Rangnick has now been granted his work visa and his first match in charge will be at Crystal Palace on Sunday (5 December).

As quoted by Statman Dave on Twitter (29 November), the German said in 2020 that Sancho was “one of the best talents in Europe”.

“It can be tough sometimes when you come to a new league and a new club,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“It can be difficult and we don’t seem to give people enough time when they come for a lot of money.

“That can be a problem. Hopefully, it’s his time now and he gets his chance to impress.

“You don’t lose it overnight, he’s a quality player. Look at the finish against Chelsea, that didn’t look like somebody low on confidence, if he was low on confidence he would have passed it.

“He deserves a chance now under Rangnick.”

Man United

Sancho has featured in 16 games across all competitions this term but has managed just five Premier League starts.

The England international moved to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund for a £73million fee in July.
