Pundit issues emphatic Arsenal prediction after what he’s seen – ‘start believing’
Paddy Kenny has backed Arsenal to extend their winning start to the season to five games ahead of clashes against Fulham and Aston Villa.
The former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted Mikel Arteta’s side can “really start believing” if they can stretch their lead over Man City.
Arsenal are the only Premier League side to have a 100% record so far this term after their 3-0 defeat of Bournemouth on Saturday (20 August).
Last season’s challengers Man City sit second on seven points, while Liverpool have picked up just two points from their opening three games.
Arsenal’s first test against a ‘big six’ side comes on 4 September when they face Man United at Old Trafford.
Kenny claimed Arsenal would have struggled with their opening three fixtures in seasons gone by.
He told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild: “They’ve had a relatively easy start.
“They managed to come out of Palace away with a win, which isn’t easy. You fancied them to win against Leicester or Bournemouth.
“These are the types of games they probably wouldn’t have won last season or the season before.
“It’s been a good start, and I can see them winning their next two games as well – Fulham and Villa. I really fancy them to go to five wins.
“That’d be good for positivity round the club, and confidence – they can ride that wave and really start believing in possible success this season.”

Arsenal were defeated in their first three fixtures of the 2021-22 season.
The Gunners have completed five signings so far this summer – including Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
