Pundit issues ‘huge’ Benitez claim after Everton ‘surprise’
Everton manager Rafael Benitez is under “huge pressure” after the 3-1 defeat at Crystal Palace, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Spurs and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said the performance was ‘surprising’ after a vital win over Arsenal on Monday night.
The Toffees were the masters of their own downfall on Sunday as errors from Demarai Gray and Seamus Coleman gifted Palace goals at Selhurst Park.
Speaking to Sky Sports yesterday, Benitez slammed his team’s defending by saying “you cannot do that in the Premier League”.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Everton’s performance, Robinson said:
“I was surprised by the performance after the result against Arsenal on Monday. I don’t think they played particularly badly against Palace by individual errors let them down.
“Benitez is huge pressure because they have only picked up something like five points from 30.
“There is a lot of reasons as to why Benitez is under huge pressure though. The signings in recent times have been really poor. Benitez is picking up the pieces.
“The need to get some results fast though because they are sliding down the table.”

The Toffees are currently 14th in the Premier League.
Next up for them is a trip to Chelsea on Thursday.
