Pundit issues ‘huge’ West Ham claim amid Mauricio Pochettino news

Alan Hutton has insisted David Moyes has enough “credit in the bank” to weather the current storm at West Ham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said appointing Thomas Tuchel or Mauricio Pochettino in the event Moyes is sacked is unlikely.

Moyes may have bought himself a bit more time at the London Stadium after the 2-0 win over fellow strugglers Everton on Saturday (21 January).

According to the Telegraph (15 January), Tuchel and Pochettino would be “dream appointments” for the Hammers but they understand that the pair could be out of reach.

Hutton suggested the Irons should not be focusing on Tuchel and Pochettino.

We talk all the time about how teams get that new manager bounce,” he told Football Insider.

They are very experienced guys who have worked at a high level. Would they be willing to go to a club that is in a relegation battle at this moment in time, I am not so sure.

If you look at them moving forward, everything with Declan Rice, one of their best players could be moving in the summer.

They want to build a strong team that is going to compete and possibly win things. It is a big one.

Some of these names were banded about for different opportunities and they turned them down.

West Ham are a huge club, they had a great season last season, they are just stuttering a bit. I still believe Moyes has got credit in the bank but I am not sure if those types of guys would go there.
