Pundit issues ‘incredible’ claim on Pep Guardiola quitting Man City after BBC’s confirmed news

Alan Hutton has insisted Pep Guardiola has “unfinished business” at Man City.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said Guardiola will stay at City until he wins the Champions League.

The 51-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Etihad.

As quoted by the BBC (1 October), the City boss said the Sky Blues will be in safe hands when he decides to move on.

Guardiola added that the club are aware of the type of players the team needs, with or without him.

When asked if the Spaniard could leave City if he fails to win the Champions League this season, Hutton told Football Insider: “I am not sure.

I think he is just on the cusp of it. He is not far.

“He will maybe feel better this year knowing that [Erling] Haaland has come in and done as well as he has. We all knew he was going to do well, but maybe not as well as this. He could be the deciding factor in them winning it [the Champions League].

If they didn’t, I think they are still searching for it so he still has unfinished business. So they will maybe want to keep him around.

“He looks happy, they are still progressing as a team which is incredible to think about. There is still something going on there. Until he wins that trophy, I can’t see him moving on.
