Pundit issues ‘massive’ Allan Saint-Maximin claim after what he’s seen at Newcastle United
Allan Saint-Maximin can repeat his “absolutely outstanding” Newcastle United form in the rest of this season’s Premier League games.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the winger’s most recent performance.
Saint-Maximin, 25, registered two assists as Newcastle drew 3-3 with Man City on Sunday (21 August).
These were the winger’s first goal contributions of the season as he also won the free-kick that Kieran Trippier scored from in the second half.
Kenny is expecting repeat performances from Saint-Maximin now Newcastle have bought better players to support him.
“Now that Newcastle have better quality players in and are looking more confident, more like a team on the up, I’m sure he has a buzz,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“There is a massive buzz about the place. I’m sure that performance can only kick him on. He was absolutely outstanding, he ran Man City ragged.
“But it’s all the other bits of work he does as well. He does all that running where he makes space for other people.
“He might not have the end product every time but if he can keep performing like that then what a player Newcastle have for the rest of the season.
“Hopefully, he will do because he is an exciting watch.”

Saint-Maximin has made 96 appearances for Newcastle since joining the club from Nice in the summer of 2019.
He has scored 12 goals and provided 18 assists.
