Pundit issues ‘massive’ Dominic Calvert-Lewin prediction after what he’s seen at Everton

A fully fit Dominic Calvert-Lewin will save Everton from relegation.

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the striker’s form

Calvert-Lewin impressed in Everton’s 1-0 win over Arsenal last Saturday (4 February).

According to the Daily Mail (5 February), Sean Dyche showed Calvert-Lewin old clips of himself to remind him where he could excel and cause damage.

The England striker has struggled for consistency over the last two seasons due to a succession of injuries.

McManus claims Calvert-Lewin has what it takes to score the goals that will save Everton from relegation.

“He was so sharp against Arsenal, he was so unlucky not to score,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“I think maybe if he had been playing a bit more recently he would have scored some of the chances he had but you can’t blame him for that.

“Lampard was so careful with him and it’s easy to see why, the lad has barely played for the last two years. But he looked like he did during that season where he couldn’t stop scoring.

“If that Calvert-Lewin comes back then Everton will be absolutely fine. That guy will score you at least 10 goals before the end of the season and that could be massive for Everton.

“That will be enough. Let’s face it, they need him to score those goals after failing to sign someone in January.”

Calvert-Lewin has been limited to 12 appearances this season, nine of which have been starts.
