Pundit issues ‘massive’ Luis Diaz claim after Liverpool source’s update – ‘fans will love this’

Liverpool have been handed a “massive boost” amid the latest on Luis Diaz’s return from injury.

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the attacker’s return.

On Sunday (27 November) Football Insider revealed Diaz, 25, is ahead of schedule in his knee injury rehabilitation and is on course to make his Liverpool comeback next month

After spending time rehabilitating in Colombia, Diaz has now returned to England and Liverpool are confident he will be able to return to full training soon and join the squad at their mid-season training camp in Dubai.

McManus insists this is a “massive boost” for Liverpool as they try to sneak into the top four.

“He came into the team and was an instant hit,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“A breath of fresh air, something different. That Liverpool front three had been unchanged for so long and Diaz gave it another dimension.

“It was a huge blow for them when he got injured because he started the season so well. A lot of people will be glad to know that he has absolutely smashed his rehab and he’s back on his way to full fitness, the fans will love that.

“If he comes back in and starts playing as he did before the injury it gives Liverpool a massive boost and a great opportunity to try and sneak into that top four.

“It always helps to have your best players available, that’s obvious. But Diaz can be world-class on his day and Liverpool have really missed him.
