Pundit issues ‘massive’ verdict on Jurgen Klopp’s future after what he’s seen at Liverpool

McAvennie has insisted there is no way Jurgen Klopp will be sacked by Liverpool.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-West Ham striker said the Reds will be walking into training with their “heads held high” after a “massive” win against Man City on Sunday (16 October).

Klopp was sent off in the second half to the clash with City for his reaction to referee Anthony Taylor’s decision not to award a free-kick for a potential foul on Mohamed Salah by Bernardo Silva.

Speaking to club media after the game (16 October), the German said he is “not proud” of what happened.

The 1-0 victory over City was much needed for Klopp’s side after they had only secured ten points from eight games.

McAvennie said he can’t understand people calling for the Reds manager to go.

I have not seen Liverpool do this for a few years, losing that many games and that many goals,” he told Football Insider.

People were saying for Klopp to go and I was thinking really? Do me a favour. Who would Liverpool get?

They have been doing alright they have just been leaking goals.

Liverpool

They have missed a few chances where they would normally take them and they are leaking at the other end. The results have not been going their way.

They will all be walking about the training ground with their heads held high now. It was a massive game for Liverpool to go in to off the back off scoring seven against Rangers.”

In other news, a pundit has suggested Diogo Jota could be ‘out for three months’ after ‘devastating’ new Liverpool blow.
